This game is dead. If you are looking for a live game in which to play, check the pages for A Nomic, its successor.

Nomic is a game of changing rules invented in 1982 by Peter Suber, a professor of philosophy at Earlham College. This page is the home of a particular instance of Nomic played by email.

Our current game is open and we would be glad to admit more players. Anyone interested should email me at the address below. If you want to watch the game in action, you can subscribe to our mailing list by sending a message to nomic-request@iastate.edu with the body "subscribe". Alternatively, you can subscribe to our mailing list digest by sending the same message to nomic-digest-request@iastate.edu.

Those interested in learning more about Nomic will find a few useful links on (where else?) the links page.
