Thring is one of the older Net Nomics. It fell to pieces towards the end of 1997 when its then-Speaker lost Internet access, and he returned to email six months later saying that he'd lost all the game documents and was unable to continue it. No plans are afoot to restart it, sadly; there was talk of starting a page about its history and quirks (the Thring Story, the Questing Ground, the dear Numbat, and whatever else), but I don't think it got anywhere.

I appear to have just found a late copy of the ruleset (dated Nov 11 1997).

It should be noted that Thring had a distinct Australian flavour - for a long time, over 75% of its players were Australian, though towards the end, there was an influx of British players (most of whom were also MorningtonCrescent players ...)

Also, Thring was briefly a member of InterNomic.
