Mornington Crescent is a satire on games where players and "experts" congratulate themselves on their cleverness.
In turn, the players bid the name of a London Underground station (chosen at random). Each bid is relished or rubbished by the other players ("clever," "what a mistake," and so on). Eventually one player brings the performance to a halt with a triumphant bid of "Mornington Crescent."
