It has become traditional in Agora Nomic for long-standing players to suddenly decide that several other players hold grudges against em, and to deregister with a lengthy rant about how Agora is never going to succeed with that kind of attitude.

Since 1998 this tradition has been recognised in the AgoraRuleset, with an elaborate means of leaving known as a Writ of FAGE. In the nine subsequent years, up to mid-2007, the Writ procedure was only used four times: leaving in a huff was much more common in the early part of Agora's history. A proposal to repeal the procedure was narrowly rejected.

Players who have left in a huff have been awarded the PatentTitle of "Left in a Huff". Most of these players have also rejoined the game some time after Leaving in a Huff.
