BBNomic ran for about a month and is now dead.

Its most interesting feature was that proposals did not need either a majority of players or an "imperial" approval to be passed. Indeed, the "majority of players" concept did not exist, since there was no player roster.

There were some serious flaws in the initial ruleset with respect to all three "branches of government" -- legislative, executive, and judicial.

LEGISLATIVE: It required only three votes, one of which could be cast by the proposer, to pass a proposal; and literally anyone could join the game and immediately cast votes. This means any player with two cooperating friends could enact any rule at all. Even the two friends were optional; the player could merely post votes under three different names. The Admin claimed the power to reject votes from non bona fide players; my take is that this was correct, but there was some dispute. In any case, distinguishing true players from stooges is necessarily subjective.

I find the idea of a Nomic without a player roster interesting, but clearly some checks and balances were needed.

EXECUTIVE: A common problem with many Nomics, this one included, is that there was no legal remedy in case of Admin inactivity. Several proposals were made to correct this, and one even passed -- but the change was never administered.

JUDICIAL: There was no provision in the initial ruleset for settling disputes. This was perhaps the least significant of these three flaws, causing the least damage and being easily correctable.
