Ackanomic started January 22, 1996. She was a Nomic renowned for her rich culture of thingies, trinkets, hats, poets, places, subgames and general weirdness. We mourn her passing.

In mid-1999 Acka was briefly at war with Agora, in the AckaAgoraWar.

In late 1999 Acka underwent a Schism into ThinAcka and FatAcka. The split involved a proposal to erase the ruleset and start over with a fairly typical initial ruleset. It was quite controversial and passed by a small margin, but its opponents then discovered that, due to an oversight, it had been distributed with the first line missing. Some players claimed that the proposal worked anyway, while others argued that it had no effect, and these two threads became ThinAcka and FatAcka respectively.

FatAcka apparently died shortly after the schism.

ThinAcka survived somewhat longer, but seems to have been inactive since May 2000.
