-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MORNINGTON NOMIC Proposals for Voting on in Week Twenty-Nine -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Proposal 189 - Simpler, Less Sloppy Sloping [Other, Multiple] Amend Rule 1049 (The Slippery Slope) to read:- "If a Player's Moves to a High or Hill Station, eir LV is decreased by one at the end of eir turn. If a Player Moves to a High Hill Station, eir LV is decreased by two. If a Player started eir Move at a High or Hill Station, eir LV is increased by one at the end of eir turn. If a Player started eir Move at a High Hill Station, eir LV is increased by three." Append the following sentence to the first paragraph of Rule 1026 (Line Velocity):- "If a Player's LV is ever less than zero, it becomes zero. If it ever rises above ten, it becomes ten." { Comments: This version includes High Stations, which I neglected to mention last time. Tsk. By way of explanation, the existing Sloping stuff is a little vague and hard to follow - if you move through a High Hill Station with an LV of one, your LV is decreased by two; when is this decreased? Does this stop you moving? Bringing it down to "slow down if you finish on one, speed up if you start on one" seems a lot clearer, without losing any of the Rule's benefits. } -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Proposal 190 - Septimus Divergence [Enactment] A Player may perform the action "[Septimus Divergence]" is e has Moved to Seven Sisters during eir Turn. This Action requires the Player to expend two Silver Tokens. At the end of each Player's Turn, if another Player's most recent turn included a "[Septimus Divergence]" Action, and if that Player is Active, any Token gains (but not losses) made by the Player are also awarded to the Player who performed the Septimus Divergence. { Comments: I proposed four Proposals by mistake last week - here's the fourth again. } -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Proposal 191 - The Case of the Disappearing Tokens [Amendment] If Proposal 178 (Tokens All Over the Place) passes, then Rule 1007 (Token Gesture) shall have the following paragraph inserted immediately prior to the Token Table: "Unless their destination is otherwise specified, Tokens forfeited for whatever reason shall be considered to have been placed on a Token Stack at a randomly selected Station. If the Station initially selected is not a valid destination for Token placement, another shall be selected at random." { Comment: Introducing an element of chance to the creation of Token stacks which might add more interest. Note that this wording still allows for Home Station tolls and the like. } -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Proposal 192 - Boast All You Wish [Amendment] In Rule 216 (Boasting Wall), remove the sentence "This message may not be longer than x characters, where x is that player's Kudos." Also add the paragraph "The Boasting Wall shall also include a link to a copy of the final Game State Document submitted to the mailing list, for that Game, as well as each Player's final Kudos score for that game. It shall also include an Adjusted Kudos score, being that Player's Kudos score divided by the number of Weeks e had been playing (if known)." { Comments: The likes of Yao only being able to submit a dozen or so characters seems rather unfair, and even Kevan's two-hundred-ish is going to be rather limiting in terms of interesting comment. A shame to change this, since it was a nice usage of Kudos, but still. } --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
