With this, and assuming that the diktat (IE rule 4-9 (I think)) can in fact actually change the rules, then the changes I proposed (formalising the name of the diktat and raising the pass percent back to 3/5) has in fact occured. I'm going to change the bot to harf this change as having occured. I then suggest that the following changes as delimited by DIKTAT be made to the rules DIKTAT Renumber rule 4-9 to rule 99-5. Change the title of rule 99-5 to "The Benevolent Diktat (retired)" and amend it so that it's text reads in full as delimited by " " The Benevolent Diktat once ruled Ackanomic. Each player legally able to assume one of the four Ackanomic names ThinMan, JT, Alfvaen, and else..if is a Benevolent Diktater (retired). No other player and no nonplayer is a Benevolent Diktater (retired). The Benevolent Diktaters (retired) are collectively the Benevolent Diktat. The Diktaters' Gazebo is a named, non-tradeable entity owned by the Chartreuse Goose. It is also a common location in The Wilds of Ackanomic. Benevolent Diktaters (retired) are always permitted to go to the Diktaters' Gazebo, notwithstanding any contrary provision of the rules. " DIKTAT I approve of this suggestion. --JT [-------------------------------------------------------------------------] [ Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty. ] [ It's hard to seize the day when you must first grapple with the morning ] [-------------------------------------------------------------------------] ------------------------------ From: Towsner Subject: Re: Acka: Diktat Date: Sat, 02 Jan 1999 19:55:34 -0500 (EST) >I then suggest that the following changes as delimited by DIKTAT be made >to the rules >DIKTAT >Renumber rule 4-9 to rule 99-5. >Change the title of rule 99-5 to "The Benevolent Diktat (retired)" and >amend it so that it's text reads in full as delimited by " >" >The Benevolent Diktat once ruled Ackanomic. > >Each player legally able to assume one of the four Ackanomic names >ThinMan, JT, Alfvaen, and else..if is a Benevolent Diktater (retired). Any member of the Church may publically suggest that the Church take a certain Organizational Action. b. If within three days at least 2/3 of the members of the Church who are also Active players publically approve, and not a single Priest debunks it, the Organizational Action is attempted. If all the Priests who are also Active players publically approve before three days have elapsed, then Organizational Action is attempted when the public message of the last Priest to approve is posted. *** which is all well and good except that rule Rule 4-9 (The Benevolent Society) only states: " When this rule is created, 4 active players should be randomly chosen by the speaker. These 4 may change the rules or game state as an organisational action. " Since 'these 4' are not a 'member of the Church' part a of the quoted section of 1006 has not been completed. Action Fails.
