Part of it has to do with Vynd's theory of unaccountability, part with the unpredictability (and hence -- to me -- fun), and part with simple irritation at those who seem to think proposals are "supposed" to pass or fail. (Yeah, I know that last horse is six feet under and still being beaten mercilessly, but...) As to the theory that "it would destroy our economy," I'm not sure I see how. The economy can always be revised.
