I think the proposals modesty should be incorporated in here somewhere. I've thought of two different possibilities for doing so: x is equal to some value based on the proposals modesty [the proposal is scored based on the proposal's acceptance index divided by "the modesty modifier"] based on the fact that for 24 players: max sustainable AI: 2400 max attainable AI: 7400 current range AI: 1-700 the following modifiers would be roughly consistent with current scoring policy: Modest: 100 Non-Modest: 70 Grandiose: 40 Alternatively the Acceptance index could be divided by a constant (x=~100) and the proposals modesty could act like a bonus either multiplying or adding to the authors score increase: Modest: *1 (or +/-0) Non-Modest: *2 (or +/-5) Grandiose: *3 (or +/-10) either scheme could be set up to both reward players for accepted proposals or penalized em for rejected ones.... > (This makes boring proposals more valuable... > perhaps it should serve as a subtrahend?) boring proposals currently don't generate score changes for anyone. > - The author recieves 1/3 (rounded down) of the manna, regardless of > outcome. > - The rest of the "spoils" are split evenly among the "victors", rounded > down, throwing away any remainder. > > Should we use manna or some other store of value? My (current) stated goal is to amalgamate A$ and points into a unified scoring system (USS). Slakko's conversion economy was a step towards that, of course if whichever proposal it is passes points will be excluded from the union (at least until someone give em an uncontroversial conversion rate :-) With that in mind using points would be most consistent with the current system K 2 ------------------------------ From: K 2 Subject: Re: Acka: *ping* Date: Sat, 27 Feb 1999 06:17:35 -0500 (EST) Gavin Logan wrote: > The truth was: > > IF AND ONLY IF today the scholar posts a message to a public forum, THEN the > Machine That Goes *ping* shall go *ping*. > > I'm not proud of it, ok?
