With respect; bollocks! As barkeep/referee in a *duel*, this is quite
notably poor. I noticed that he had been too late and was waiting for you
to announce it so I could get on with my (previously abortive) turn. But I
suppose if you can't reject it for being late, then you can't.

Now I'll have to try and interrupt instead, and I still don't understand
how tightly you're insisting on the word I play being actually present in
the text itself...

Oh well.

Not just anybody?

I'm not sure - the web page was adjusted as if the scoring was official,
because in a previous game (Game 1) there was a similar incident.
Something should really be done about it - I bags dibs on the correction
proposal.

Um, JT, if the umpire doesn't know what the uh? word means, how can e say
you have a legitimate link word?

As far as I was aware, the umpire was allowed to look up the meaning.
The word is in the official dictionary (as far as I can tell by the
definition in the rules).. However it's not 'common' which is merely a
recomendation of the WUA rules. I am willing to choose a more common word
(I reread the WUA rules after choosing the word)

With respect, rubbish! (Notice that subtle difference there?) As I'm sure you
will have noticed nobody is perfect so this kind of thing happens. Also, you
may not have noticed but Alfvaen does quite a lot of work for this game.
Shall we give you the job of Financier and scorekeeper instead? I'd be
willing to wager that you wouldn't be able to keep up with little things like
duels. If you noticed it then why didn't you politely point it out to Alfvaen
in a private message? I'm sure that if you did he would have quickly declared
me asleep.

As a guide, I would suggest you have a look over the past and current YORL
games to see what has been accepted and declined in terms of interruptions.
Whilst I can't guarantee Alfvaen will go by the same system it should give
you a reasonable guide.

TGW, incensed.

Prophet Ayla correctly identified as such. It is now K 2's turn.

As I said, I am being a bit harsher than other Barkeeps(/dev/joe, for
instance), because my cards are more prosaic. A good guideline will be
that if the word is actually in the play, then I'll accept the interrupt.

This play is accepted, but only barely. Any less use of the word than
this and I would have had to refuse it. (Although an interruption with
"big" would have succeeded...)

It is The Gingham Wearer's turn.

The Gingham Wearer: 5 cards
Koxvolio: 8 cards

Loose Ends: temple

(And as far as I can tell, Koxvolio can still interrupt based on this play
for three days, even if TGW plays again in the meantime.)

I'll try to put up a web page for this sometime soon. (I've been spending
most of the past couple of days playing my new game "Colonization"...)
