Lots of action this time, Grabbers! Well, not much happened, but there
was lots of action ;)

Here's a recap:

rufus went after Goldenmean's donkey. Goldenmean cleverly covered it,
and then conspired with The Gingham Wearer, who snatched rufus' donkey.
And another one bites the dust...

Rex Mundi attempted to snatch Slakko's donkey, but Slakko's well-used
blanket protected him.

K 2 tried to grab Guy Fawkes' donkey, but the donkey was warm in the
glow of blanket protection, and was safe.

Current Scores:
The Gingham Wearer - 5
Guy Fawkes - 1
Rex Mundi - 1
Goldenmean - 1
Slakko - 1
K 2 - 0

The rufus-less GAL:
The Gingham Wearer
Goldenmean
Guy Fawkes
K 2
Rex Mundi

Slowly but surely, we approach the end of the line. Send in your plays,
Grabbers!

Well, my play helped to confirm the misplay. Otherwise it would have been
just accusation, and we would have had to wait for /dev/joe's
confirmation.

I play the seven of clubs.

After doing a bit of research I've decided to accept Hubert's link word,
although it was a close call. Looking in one of the Fictionary look up
dictionaries, it appears that the words have the same root. I was still in a
bit of a quandary though until I remembered that I had accepted "less"
earlier, so I feel I am right in accepting this too. The scores are now:

Slakko: 8
Hubert: 9
/dev/joe: 7

Round 10 is over and to nobodies surprise /dev/joe and Hubert have both
linked with "hair" and so both gain 1 point the scores are now:

Slakko: 8
/dev/joe: 8
Hubert: 10

and it is now /dev/joe's turn as linker (linking from "raising"). /dev/joe's
play of hair also ensured that the game will go to at least fifteen round
since Hubert can now no longer win in the next to rounds (if /dev/joe hadn't
linked with hair, Hubert would have gained an extra point meaning that if he
got two more in each of the next two rounds he would have reached a score of
fifteen).

No, I have no particular reason to associate "gleet" with bears.
I just thought the definition sounded good.

Alfvaen tried to play the:
> Seven of Clubs.

As Slakko pointed out, Alfvaen does not hold this card. The AlfGol
team scores -100 again.

This is the second misplay for the AlfGol team in the game. One more
and their team forfeits.

While I appreciate the efforts of the players to try to proceed, I
believe the rules require me to void this play and all plays after it.

It is Alfvaen's play to follow the lead of the king of clubs. Here is
the log for the current hand:

Alfvaen (2) 7D 2C +
Slakko (2) 8D 9C
Goldenmean (3)> KD 4C
Q*bert (3) AD* AC* KC

+ A tried to lead 7C this trick.

Yes, he did get an ale with his last play, which I neglected to add to
the status report.

In any case, two-star has had plenty of time to play a card and has not
done so. He has fallen asleep, and is dealt a card. It is now
The Gingham Wearer's turn. I really need to make some more cards. :-o

YORL Status:

Loose Ends: 4 - cowboy, snowgod, thin man, 2600
Cards Burned: 25
Cards in Deck: 15

Play Order:
The Gingham Wearer [6 cards] [1 Ale]
TAFKA Slagothor [7 cards]
Slakko [7 cards]
rufus [7 cards]
- --Open Bench-- [-]
Karma [9 cards]
Alfvaen [3 cards] [1 Ale]

It was not long before Sam realised that the giants had been left far behind
and called his horse to a stop. He was bewildered to find that Kirby 2300 and
the Thin Man had got there before him.

"What the..." he started.
"No time to explain," started Kirby,
"You must use your ring to get us out of here," continued the Thin Man.
"But where to?"
"To wherever your heart takes you..."

"Romeo, Romeo, I have found the location of the talisman," came the voice in
Sam's head through the ring, "it has been split into three separate parts,
one is in the space station Mir, one is on an asteroid guarded by Snowgod's
servant The Lunatic Finger and the third is in Snowgod's castle. Each one has
some element of power but only with them all together can you hope to
defeat...Aarghh he's got me, Romeo, Snowgod is taking me away. Romeo, please
help..."

And with that the voice faded. Sam concentrated for a few seconds and then
teleported to the Mir space station. The Thin Man was already there and Kirby
2300 appeared there a few seconds later. Sam wasn't sure how they did that,
and didn't really want to ask.

"So," asked Sam, "do you know what the talisman of banna looks likes?"

The Gingham Wearer plays "space station".

Ack. A bit harsh, innit?

Well, that'll be one way to bring this Duel to an end before the end of
the year, although of course the SlaHub team could misplay three times
as well.

Okay. I follow with the Six of Clubs. (And I will of necessity check my
plays a bit more carefully in future.)
