Unfortunately for Alfvaen, this means that his single-piece group at c5 ended up with no liberties. Alfvaen was therefore doomed; Slakko was not doomed, and thus won the game when Alfvaen was removed at the end of round 5. The final grid is: 1 2 3 4 5 a . . . . . b . . S . S c . @ . I will add that it appeared to me that both players struggled at times with the differences between Single-Capture Go and normal Go. The similarities are, IMO, not as great as they may at first seem.
