betrayal is successfully played and burned.

This interrupt is successful. It is Vynd's turn. The game state
is:

    /dev/joe (6 cards) (1 Ale)
    Voting Gnome (7 cards)

An oversight? Is there any other possible configuration that would
allow the move 4 a tromino to touch the move 1 A tromino?

Indeed. My first inclination would be to guess that symmetry,
especially early on, favors the first player. To what degree, I cannot
say.

There are others if the second play is different, e.g.

 AAb
 Abb
aaCC
 ac

Yeah, but the different letters break the symmetry. The letters are what
really makes this an interesting game.

Okay, that doesn't preclude an oversight, but it does make it at
least a little less likely.

I have been following the entire duel. I am, of course, an interested
party (as /dev/joe's second), but the game goes quickly and has
relatively simple rules and thus is easy to follow. Indeed, with
/dev/joe and Alfvaen spending as much time at their keyboards as they
(and I) apparently do, this duel seems to be going lightning quick.
