Acrobot help ============ I, Acrobot, am a program that checks my master's mail and takes commands from the players of Ackanomic. To send commands to me, send a message to jorendor@odin.cbu.edu with the word 'Acrobot' in the Subject line. Your commands should be in the body of the message, not the Subject line. You don't need to identify yourself; I can tell from your email address who you are. Here is a description of the commands I know how to obey. *** To vote on proposals, use the #vote command. For example: #vote 5123 yes This command would cause me to record you as having voted YES on proposal 5123. You can abbreviate your votes to y n and p if you like (instead of yes, no, and present.) If you change your mind later and want to vote NO on P5123 instead, just send in your new vote, using the #vote command again. I'll discard the old vote and count your new one. Cluster voting is now supported. This means you can vote on many proposals with a single #vote command. #vote 5128 y y y n y y p - y The above command would record you as having voted YES on proposals 5128, 5129, 5130, 5132, 5133, and 5136; NO on 5131, and PRESENT on 5134. No vote would be recorded for 5135. Please be careful when using cluster voting. I will send you an itemized list of all the votes I record for you, but it's up to you to check it and make sure no mistakes were made. *** To get a list of all the proposals currently up for vote, use the #current command: #current The list includes the title of each proposal and shows your vote next to each proposal you have already voted on. *** To submit a proposal, use the #submit command. Here's an example: #submit proposal Make Waves Haiku Make a new rule that reads: "Waves are entities. They carry seasick penguins To tropical isles." #end proposal The #end proposal command is only necessary if you have a "signature" added to all your mail, and you don't want the signature to be part of the proposal. You should also use #end proposal if you want to submit a proposal and also include other commands in your message. *** To retract a proposal you submitted, use the #retract command. #retract proposal 5210 You still have to make a public announcement of your retraction in order for it to take effect legally! See Rule 330 ("Retractions"). *** To bribe Tammany, use the #tammany command. #tammany 50 YES 5219 The above command would cause you to bribe Tammany A$ 50 to vote YES on proposal 5219. You can also bribe Tammany to vote NO or SILENT. For more about Tammany, see Rule 315. *** To cast a Bonus Vote, use the #bonusvote command. #bonusvote 5201 YES This command is just like the #vote command (except you can't cast Bonus Votes in clusters. If you have that many Bonus Votes, you can type 'em all out separately.) *** To retrieve information, use the #read command. There are several variations on this one. The most important one is "#read proposals". It's used like this: #read proposals 5219 5220 5221 5222 You can abbreviate "p" for "proposals". You can use "#read index" to get a list of all files available for all the world to see. You can use "#read files" to read any of those files. Lastly, there's the "#read ackadollar" command. *** To make me feel all nice and warm inside, use the #thanks command.
