proposal add 438/0 10 Mar 2001 19:38:49 10 Mar 2001 20:00:29 Joerg Lynching Create a new rule entitled "Lynching" with the following text: "Any Player who believes that another Player ought to be punished may = make an Attempt to Lynch. An Attempt to Lynch is a Primary Approvable Motion, subject to voting. It must name exactly one Player to be lynched (the victim), list the crimes which e has commited and state a fine which the victim shall pay. The fine shall shall be at least 10 Points and shall not exceed 50% of the victim's score; if the victim's score is lower than 20 Points, the fine is always 10 Points. For any crime commited by a Player, only one Attempt to Lynch may be made. No Agent may make an Attempt to Lynch emself [[to prevent em from lynching emself with only a small fine when e knows e'll be lynched anyway]]. If the Attempt to Lynch is adopted, the victim owes the fine to the bank, and the bank owes (1/N * fine) + 1 Points to each Player who voted for the Attempt to Lynch, where N is the number of Players who voted for the Attempt to Lynch. All Players except the victim who voted against the Attempt to Lynch owe 5 Points to the bank [[as a punishment for trying to aid and abet a criminal]]. If the Attempt to Lynch fails, all Players who voted for the Attempt to Lynch owe 5 Points to the bank [[as a punishment for attempting to lynch an innocent]]. The bank owes one Point to all Players except the victim who voted against the Attempt to Lynch [[as a reward for protecting an innocent]]." ----
